Surrogacy journey timeline

Most journeys take about 15–24 months from start to finish. Every family is different, but here's roughly what to expect along the way.

1. Week 1

   01Free consultation

   A relaxed call with Cierra. We get to know you, answer every question, and talk through your goals and budget.

2. Weeks 1–4

   02Application & screening

   Surrogates complete the application, medical records review, and background checks. Parents share their story and preferences.

3. 1–3 months

   03Matching

   We introduce surrogates and families who truly fit. You meet, talk, and only move forward when it feels right for everyone.

4. Month 2–4

   04Medical screening

   The surrogate visits the fertility clinic for a full medical and psychological evaluation to confirm she's ready.

5. Month 3–5

   05Legal contracts

   Each side has their own attorney. Contracts cover compensation, expectations, and care, and are signed before any medical steps.

6. Month 4–6

   06Embryo transfer

   After a few weeks of medication to prepare, the embryo transfer happens. A pregnancy test follows about 10 days later.

7. Weeks 6–10

   07Heartbeat & graduation

   Early ultrasounds confirm the heartbeat. Around 10 weeks, the surrogate moves from the clinic to her own OB.

8. About 9 months

   08Pregnancy

   Regular check-ins, appointments, and updates. We stay close to both sides the whole way, through every high and low.

9. Around week 38–40

   09Baby's arrival

   Birth day! Parentage orders are in place, so the parents are the legal parents. We support the surrogate's recovery afterward.
